Why do you call your brand Nitrolithic Labs™?

Nitrolithic™ is a new term that we coined specifically for our brand. Nitrolithic™ consists of the root word nitro and the suffix lithic.

Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines nitro and -lithic as:

Nitro (noun): any of various nitrated products

-lithic (adj. combining form): relating to or characteristic of a (specified) stage in humankind's use of stone as a cultural tool.

You may recognize -lithic as the suffix in Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic.

Paleolithic: of or relating to the earliest period of the Stone Age characterized by rough or chipped stone implements

Mesolithic: of, relating to, or being a transitional period of the Stone Age between the Paleolithic and the Neolithic

Neolithic: 1: of or relating to the latest period of the Stone Age characterized by polished stone implements

2: belonging to an earlier age and now outmoded

Note that Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic refer to periods in history. Old or early stone-age, middle stone-age, and new or late stone-age.

Nitrolithic Labs™ has adopted the root word and suffix to form a new word that celebrates the idea that we are now living in the NITRIC OXIDE age...the Nitrolithic period!

We have taken some creative license in using the term nitro to refer to nitric oxide (NO) as produced and used in the body. We acknowledge that like many other compounds, and even essential vitamins and minerals, it is possible to have too much of a good thing. If you look hard enough, you can find information on the risks of excess dietary nitrates and nitrites. Likewise, you can learn about the dangers of iron, vitamin A, vitamins B3 and B6, vitamin D, and vitamin E! We will discuss in further detail the benefits and risks of dietary nitrates/nitrites in future blog posts, as well as the essential nature of nitric oxide in the human body.
