Two botanicals with distinct mechanisms and complementary effects. Ginkgo biloba works primarily through cerebral circulation. Korean red ginseng works through energy metabolism, stress response, and vitality. Together they cover more cognitive and physical ground than either does alone.
What's inside and why it matters:
Here's the Science
Ginkgo's primary mechanism is vasodilation and improved microcirculation, particularly in the brain. A 2010 meta-analysis in Human Psychopharmacology reviewed 29 randomized trials and found consistent evidence of ginkgo's effects on cognitive speed, attention, and memory in healthy adults and those with age-related cognitive changes.
Transparency on the evidence: a large U.S. trial published in JAMA (2008) found that ginkgo did not significantly reduce the incidence of dementia in adults over 75. Ginkgo's evidence is strongest for supporting existing cognitive function in healthy adults, not for disease prevention.
Korean red ginseng has strong clinical support for cognitive performance. A 2013 Cochrane review of 10 randomized trials found consistent evidence of improved cognitive performance with Panax ginseng supplementation. A 2002 randomized trial in the Journal of Urology found significant improvements in male sexual function scores versus placebo.
Suggested use: Two capsules daily with a meal. Allow 4-6 weeks of consistent use before evaluating effects.
