Worth being straight about the limits here: these are observational studies, not controlled trials. They show a correlation between GLP-1 use and deficiency diagnoses, and they can't fully separate "less food" from other factors like changes in absorption or people simply getting more lab work done once they start a new medication. But the pattern is consistent across a very large combined sample, and it lines up with basic nutrition logic: eat less, absorb less.

Why these specific nutrients matter

B12 keeps your nerves functioning and helps make red blood cells. Low levels show up as fatigue, brain fog, and in severe cases, nerve tingling.

Vitamin D supports calcium absorption and immune function. It's already one of the most common deficiencies in the general population, even before you factor in eating less.
